Cosmetic & Consumer Compliance

Cosmetic and consumer product regulatory compliance

A formula that is compliant in one country may contain a restricted ingredient in another, and a claim that is acceptable in one market may make a product a medicine elsewhere. We check formulas, labels and claims against each target market’s rules and guide you through notification or registration.

  • Markets EU, UK, ASEAN, India, GCC, USA and others on request
  • Typical inputs Formula, label artwork, intended claims, target markets
  • You receive Compliance report per market and corrective actions

Overview

About Cosmetic Regulatory Compliance

Cosmetic rules cover what can go into a product, what must appear on the label, what the product can claim and how it is notified or registered. Product classification is a frequent problem: claims such as “anti-bacterial” or “treats acne” can move a product into a different regulatory category.

We review each product against the target market’s current rules and give clear, practical recommendations — for example reformulation, revised wording or additional evidence.

Scope

What the service covers

  • Product classification (cosmetic, drug, borderline product) for each market
  • Ingredient compliance: prohibited and restricted substances, concentration limits
  • Label review: mandatory information, ingredient listing, warnings and language
  • Claims review and substantiation requirements
  • Notification or registration requirements and procedure
  • Market-specific recommendations and corrective actions

Who does what

Notifications and registrations are made by the brand owner, Responsible Person or importer through the official channels. Globaxa prepares and checks the information.

What is a borderline product?

A product that could fall into more than one category — for example cosmetic, medicine or biocide — depending on its composition, presentation and claims. Classification determines which rules apply, so it is checked first.

FAQs

Cosmetic Regulatory Compliance: frequently asked questions

Can you register our cosmetics in India?

Registration of imported cosmetics is filed by the importer or manufacturer through CDSCO’s portal. We prepare and check the documentation.

Do you review marketing material?

Yes, where claims on websites or advertising could affect product classification or compliance.

How often do ingredient rules change?

Frequently. The EU, for example, amends its annexes several times a year. We recommend a periodic review of established products.
